Jeannie Mai Says Yes to Jeezy: They’re Engaged!

“The Real” co-host Jeannie Mai and rapper Jeezy are now engaged.

According to People, the rapper/businessman popped the question during a special date night. The publication says the proposal went down at his LA crib on March 27.

People – which reported the news first – says Jeezy was planning to propose to Mai on a scheduled trip to Vietnam in April. However, the trip was scrapped due to the coronavirus crisis and related travel restrictions. Apparently dude couldn’t wait any longer to wife her up and surprised Jeannie with the proposal during date night inside.

“Jeannie and Jay were set for a trip to Vietnam this April. What Jeannie didn’t know is that Jay was planning to propose. Instead, Jay decided to bring Vietnam to Jeannie with a surprise quarantine date night in his home filled with Vietnamese food and decor,” a rep for Mai said.

For those that don’t know how they got hooked up or forgot, they met on the set of her daytime talk show, “The Real,” and started dating in November 2018. Mai and Jeezy didn’t confirm their romance until August 2019.

“We both went through enough in our life to connect on the understanding that love should feel safe, honest, and pure,” Mai told People about the relationship last November. “Immediately that was a magnetic attraction. We are very attracted to each other’s passions to serve. So because we have a mutual joy of having a purpose, we’re going to find a way to do that together.”

Jeezy, 42 and Mai, 41, also spent Thanksgiving together for the first time in his hometown of Atlanta, where Mai mingled with Jeezy’s extended family and gave back by working with two local nonprofits.

“It was so wonderful to meet his family and be able to spend time together,” she said on The Real at the time. “It was special.”

Mai was previously married to Freddy Harteis. The divorce was officially settled in January 2019.

In the divorce agreement, both parties agreed to waive the right to spousal support. Mai walked away with her $1.2 million Sherman Oaks home, clothing, jewelry and other personal effects. The talk show host kept several bank accounts and her entertainment company Mai Dream Inc.

Her ex-husband walked away with a 2003 Mercedes Benz C-Class, a 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 Power Wagon, a Sprinter Pull Log Trailer, and several other bank accounts.

Rapper DaBaby detained, cited with marijuana possession after concert in North Carolina

 – Charlotte native and Grammy-nominated rapper DaBaby was arrested Monday night moments after getting off stage in North Carolina.

The rapper, whose real name is Jonathan Kirk, was detained and cited on suspicion of possession of marijuana shortly after he hit the stage for a rescheduled performance at Bojangles Coliseum.

Police said Kirk pulled into the coliseum in a white Dodge Charger and when he went inside to perform, they smelled a “strong odor of marijuana” coming from the car.

According to CMPD, officers then used flashlights to look inside the car windows and spotted marijuana in plain view.

Officers said when Kirk got off stage, they tried to talk to him about the marijuana, but he walked away and refused to talk to them.

Police said Kirk was then put in handcuffs and taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, where he was issued two citations for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and resist, obstruct and delay.

He was later released.

DaBaby was also cited for resisting arrest, a charge he denied. He told WSOC-TV his production team caught the entire exchange on camera and he plans to release the footage later on Instagram.

“So what we got is high-quality audio and video of me doing everything but resisting arrest before they just brought me down here, and we will be airing it out,” he said. “Y’all will see how dirty the (Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department) did me during the holidays, in front of my daughter, while I was putting a show on for my city.”

The rapper told WSOC-TV that police illegally searched his car while he was on stage.

His arrest came hours after he partnered with several local groups to make sure hundreds of kids received Christmas presents.

Authorities said they’ve opened an internal affairs investigation to determine whether officers followed department policies and directives during the incident.

Cuba Gooding Jr. allegedly told woman to ‘sit on my face, pee in my mouth’

Cuba Gooding Jr. once told a female stranger to sit on his face and pee in his mouth, Manhattan prosecutors allege in new court papers.
The woman is one of a total of 14 accusers alleging sexual misconduct by the movie star, prosecutors revealed at a court hearing Tuesday, when Gooding pleaded not guilty to two counts of forcible touching and two counts of third-degree sex abuse, all misdemeanors, involving a pair of the alleged victims.
He has not been charged in the other dozen accusers’ alleged incidents, although prosecutors hope to still introduce their claims in court to prove a pattern of sexual abuse.
In February 2011, Gooding allegedly grabbed the female stranger’s arm in an LA bar as she walked past him to go to the bathroom. The pair had no “prior interaction,” the papers state.
Gooding “then placed his hand inside the woman’s blouse and squeezed her bare breast while he stated, in substance, ‘Sit on my face, pee in my mouth,’ ” the papers say.
She pushed him away while telling him, “You’re so nasty,” according to the documents.
When Gooding grabbed her arm as she walked past him to get to the bathroom again a short time later, someone told him to leave her alone, to which he replied, “I want her to sit on my face and pee in my mouth,’’ the documents say.
The allegation is one of a slew against the actor going back as far as 2011 and spanning four states: New York, California, Texas and New Mexico, according to prosecutors.
In 2013, Gooding grabbed a woman’s butt without her consent at the Chatwal Hotel in Manhattan and licked her neck, the papers say.
A year later, at Cafe Havana in Malibu, Calif., the star approached a female stranger and reached under her skirt and assaulted her, according to the documents.
“Defendant’s past behavior shows that he routinely approaches women while at bars or nightclubs with whom he has had limited or no prior interaction, and touches them inappropriately,” the prosecutors argue in the papers, in a bid to convince the judge to allow the additional dozen accusers’ allegations to be considered at trial.
“Looking at these instances, it is clear that the defendant’s actions are intentional, rather than accidental, that he does not mistakenly believe the acts are consensual.”
Gooding’s lawyer, Mark Heller, said in a statement Tuesday, “None of those [claims] are accurate, none of them are truthful, and I think they are simply efforts on the part of those individuals to draw themselves into the notoriety and publicity of this case.
“If any of them had any credence or validity, they would have been incorporated into criminal cases,” he said.
